“I work in abstract form ~ Textures and Shapes give me inspiration. I like incorporating metal, fused, cast, or carved glass as well as sea shells and other elements found in nature. “
Glass has always brought ideas and inspiration to Susan. She likes adding elements which incorporate fused glass and sand carv
ing. These add to the beauty of each finished window and fireplace screen.
Susan begins her design with a sculptureal element. It might be a scallop or oyster shell or an interesting stone which catches her eye. In one piece, she is creating a sculptural fish with scales, then incorporating it in the design of her stained glass. She likes combining textures with transparency. By Layering glass and metal, fusing them together in a kiln, she creates stained glass pieces that are truly 3-dimensional.
Susan also sand blasts the glass to create an etched design such as a dragonfly or a ship’s wheel. Susan’s love of experimentation and her partnership with husband Wade keeps her inspired and working to find new ways of bringing her visions to life in glass.

“I want my work to reflect the completely hand made process I use and the craftsmanship to be evident in each piece I create.”
Nature’s timeless process of erosion and renewal fascinates Jim Waggener. He is inspired by subconscious images, forms and shapes he sees in nature and his imagination. He incorporates the texture and color of these visions into each of his unusual metal sculptures.
Jim forms sterling silver, copper, brass, bronze and pewter sheets with centuries old techniques and craftsmanship using hand tools with no mechanical assistance. Pushing the metal from behind, he uses the old master technique known as repousse. Forming from the front, he creates the details with a method known as chasing.
Creating works of art is a natural outgrowth of a lifetime of working with fine metals. Jim has been restoring antique and sentimental objects for over 25 years. Restoring sterling silver flatware, hollowware and brass lighting fixtures gave him highly refined skills and an appreciation of fine craftsmanship. He got his training by apprenticing with a silversmith for ten years before starting his own restoration business.
